The Jacksonville Jaguars looked ready to make a run at the AFC elite through the first three months of 2023 before December decimated an 8-3 straight up and against the spread record in the opening 11 games.
The Jags can either use their 1-5 faceplant to end 2023 as motivation for this upcoming year or let that late-season collapse set the tone for 2024.
Jacksonville doesn’t carry the same expectations as last year, forecasting to fight for second place in the AFC South with an 8.5 win total while giving points in just nine games. The schedule is also much stiffer than last season too, with several contenders sprinkled throughout and divisional foes like Houston and Indianapolis on the up-and-up.

“In the beginning, it was really painful to watch Tottenham’s games, really painful,” Mauricio Pochettino says, the emotion rising, seemingly out of nowhere. “Because when you feel a club is like home, it’s not easy to split from this feeling.”
It is Wednesday afternoon, Pochettino is zooming in from Paris Saint-Germain’s training ground and England is on his mind, partly because his team are at Manchester City in Champions League Group A this Wednesday coming. But mainly it is because of Spurs. “Today is 17 November,” the manager continues. “And in two days, it is the anniversary. The two years since we left Tottenham. It’s in my mind, no?”

The plan
It is probably fair to say the expectations of Manchester United fans as the team head into their third Women’s Super League season are markedly different to last summer.
Then, Casey Stoney had guided the team to a fourth-place finish in a curtailed first top-flight campaign and recruited the USA women’s national team stars Christen Press and Tobin Heath as they looked to upset the established order at the top of the table and vie for a place in the Champions League. Confidence was high.

Nottingham Forest’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, has warned results and performances must “improve immediately”, in a statement issued to deny Steve Cooper was being sacked.
Forest’s defeat at Leeds on Tuesday left them above the relegation zone on goal difference and extended their winless run to eight games. Cooper was close to dismissal in October before being given a new contract to 2025 and the comments from Marinakis did not appear to close the door on a change of manager. Forest play at Aston Villa on Saturday.

Here we go; the almost impossible task of picking a Roma five-a-side team and keeping most people happy. Roma, like many Italian sides, are a club with a rich history of top-class players who have each brought their own unique skills and styles of play to an adoring public.
I would argue, reasonably confidently, that three of my five selections will not spark much debate. I have chosen only one midfielder, which means legends such as Agostino Di Bartolomei, Giuseppe Giannini and Daniele De Rossi miss out. However, my midfield choice brings energy, dynamism, and a creative spark that I feel would flourish on a five-a-side pitch. I’m confident that if my attacking duo rediscover their old spark, this team would be competitive against any sid…
Bill Belichick and Sean Payton both being winless through two games has never happened. In fact, this is Belichick’s nadir since 2001, when Tom Brady was just a twinkle in his eye. Both coaches are masters of their domain and intense perfectionists. Unfortunately, their respective teams would only be among the league’s best this season if the games were 30 minutes long. Payton’s rep — an offensive guru who won a Super Bowl and manufactured top-10 offenses as efficiently as anyone not named Andy Reid — is still intact. Belichick is arguably the greatest defensive mind in history and the league’s preeminent coach after winning six Super Bowls with Brady executing the Pats’ offenses. This year, between the two of them exists one combined elite team. For the Patriots, naptime …
Yesterday, Jake Paul and former Heavyweight champion Mike Tyson announced that they would be fighting in July at AT&T Stadium and streaming live on Netflix. Paul accompanied the post with a hype video of Tyson training, but the video is from four years ago, not two weeks ago like Paul said when he posted on X. The footage was shot and posted by Tyson before his fight in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr., which ended in a draw. Tyson has not fought in a non-exhibition boxing match since his retirement in 2005. “He’s grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT,” Tyson said of Paul in a statement, according to the New York Post. “It’s a full-circle m…
Some people are fans of the Minnesota Vikings. But many, many more people are NOT fans of the Minnesota Vikings. This 2017 Deadspin NFL team preview is for those in the latter group. Read all the previews so far here. Your team: Minnesota Vikings. As always, this is the part where I disclose that I’m a Vikings fan. A stupid, gullible, worthless Vikings fan. Have a seat. This’ll take a while. I have a lot of problems with these people. Your 2016 record: 8-8, which doesn’t even begin to hint at the pain and misery this team… this complete fucking ASSHOLE of a team… put everyone through. Fresh off a division title and with young promise all over the roster, here is what happened: The starting quarterback had his leg explode in a non-contact drill, an injury so severe it n…
Some people are fans of the Cincinnati Bengals. But many, many more people are NOT fans of the Cincinnati Bengals. This 2014 Deadspin NFL team preview is for those in the latter group.
Your team: Cincinnati Bengals
Your 2013 record: 11-5. And you're not gonna believe this, but they lost their first round playoff game. I know! CRAZY, RIGHT?! You know how any playoff team gets asked, "Hey, what team would you like to face?" and they're all diplomatic and they say, "Aw shucks, we'll play anyone because we're just that gosh darn competitive"? That's a lie. They want the Bengals. Come playoff time, everyone wants a piece of Marvin Lewis. Every time the Bengals make the playoffs, they look like a team that got swapped in at the last se…
Lions Center On Packers Fans Who Might Moon Him: "They’re Not In Real Good Shape Up There"
Says Dominic Raiola, after being asked about Packers fans who moon visiting teams' buses, "I get to the stadium too early. I don't see that. But that'd be pretty awesome to see. I don't know if I want to see any of those people naked. They're not in real good shape up there." He adds, "It looks like they live a simple life. They love the Pack and that's pretty much it." Last year, Raiola did this with Dolphins fans. Colorful character! …
