Real chief labels Mourinho world´s best

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has hailed the club s coach Jose Mourinho as the best in the world.

The 49-year-old Mourinho has been in charge at Real since 2010 and led the club to the La Liga title last season.

He signed a four-year deal as a result but speculation has been rife that Mourinho may leave the Spanish capital at the end of the current campaign, particularly with Real struggling 11 points adrift of table-toppers Barcelona.

Perez gave the Portuguese a public show of support though.

We have the best manager in the world with an amazing background who has hard work as his only rule, Perez said.

He s had to take attacks and damaging remarks that are disproportionate and unfair, some of them against his dignity as a person.

From here, Jose Mourinho has my credit, my trust and my affection.

Mourinho admitted that he had seen Perez s comments about him but refused to comment on them.

I have said before that a coach must not comment on (his) president s words, Mourinho said.

He must not ignore (them) either. I think a coach has to analyse and extract his conclusions, but he must not comment (on) them.

The former Chelsea and Inter Milan coach said he is not happy with his side s form but is backing his team to turn it around.

In my opinion, the results are not satisfied (sic), he said.

I am not interested in other opinions, just mine. I do not need pressure to recognize that the results are not good. I do not need pressure because I know how to put pressure on myself.

However, (the) people that are building these not good results are the same that people last year managed to build the best team in Europe. I think this is enough to be optimistic.
